Burnout among Healthcare Professionals is consistently high and doesn’t seem to be decreasing. Between administrative duties, handling struggles with insurance companies and expectations from hospitals and other organizations, it can be overwhelming for healthcare providers and make them unavailable to give quality service. This can create distress as the Provider feels a disconnect from what they want to do and what they are required to do.
Dr. Gaither, a family physician, is currently the Medical Director of the North Carolina Professionals Health Program and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
